Creating a Multi-Layered Office Design with Sliding Doors

When planning for small spaces, modern design approaches often avoid excessive partitioning and integrate similar functional areas to retain more flexibility, providing users with a fresh and minimalist living space. However, in an office setting, where different business needs or client visits might require separate meeting rooms and departmental work areas, what should be done? This design project in Kyiv offers an excellent solution: by cleverly arranging "wooden sliding doors," it creates a versatile office space.

Within the relatively small interior space, considering the arrangement of workstations and computers, the design team simply divided the area into four zones: an entrance lobby with a sofa lounge area, a meeting room, a work area, and a pantry with a restroom. The entire project retains the natural texture of concrete walls and floors, and incorporates a large number of wooden sliding doors to create the possibility of flexible space division and integration for each area.

Simple yet refined, a unique work area is enclosed by a blue open-shelf storage cabinet and black floor-length curtains; the meeting room, on the other hand, is defined by industrial-style metal pendant lights and dark-toned tables and chairs, creating a rugged yet sleek aesthetic. From inside out, it creates an excellent interconnected arrangement that not only enhances space utilization but also showcases rich visual effects.
