North District Hospital Office Screen Partition Installation and Delivery Case Study

The North District Hospital's office areas are in high-density use, with a concentration of personnel, documents, and equipment, and daily operations cannot be easily interrupted. This project, centered around 145 office screens, encompassed preliminary approvals, factory production, delivery and distribution to four zones, on-site installation, and multi-trade coordination, thoroughly testing the project management and implementation capabilities of the office furniture company.

BW Furniture started from the initial planning stage, deploying each item according to the hospital's site requirements, incorporating screen colors, delivery zones, entry arrangements, and installation conditions for each desk into the execution plan, striving to maintain an accurate, safe, and stable delivery pace in a busy environment.

Project Challenges

Strict hospital approval and entry arrangements

Before delivery and installation, the team needed to submit a list of entry personnel, vehicle information, and filing documents, and cooperate with relevant training, construction times, and process reviews. Each piece of information had to be checked in advance, as any omission could affect entry and overall progress.

Precise color-based distribution to four zones

Screens needed to be delivered to four different areas and identified by specific colors. In addition to verifying quantities, inventory management also required simultaneous confirmation of colors, designated areas, and placement positions to reduce misplacement, missing deliveries, and repeated handling.

Inconsistent existing desk structures

All screens needed to be added to existing desks, but the desk structures and installation conditions were not entirely consistent, making it difficult to apply a single method. During construction, most areas still had staff working, and desktop documents and personal items limited the operating space.

On-site variables affecting the original installation location

Some floor outlets blocked the original installation points for the screens, requiring immediate re-evaluation of fixed positions and coordination with electricians to adjust the outlets to ensure safe installation at the relevant office locations.

Additionally, the light-colored screens delivered on-site had a noticeable color difference from the original screens. The team immediately checked quotation sheets, WhatsApp text and image confirmation records to help the client's representative verify the approved color. Ultimately, the original plan was used, avoiding unnecessary rework and delays.

Pre-arrangement of entry documents

BW Furniture integrated personnel, vehicle, filing, and training information before construction and confirmed each item with the on-site management. Clear pre-deployment allowed delivery and installation teams to enter according to approved procedures, reducing uncertainties caused by administrative processes.

Arranging delivery order by zone

Before shipping, the team categorized the screens by color and zone, pre-checking quantities and delivery locations. Upon arrival, goods could be directly routed to designated areas, improving handling and counting efficiency, and reducing the impact of secondary handling on the hospital's daily operations.

Adjusting the fixing method for each desk

The installation team adjusted the fixing method for each desk individually, according to its structure and the available on-site space. Even though construction speed was limited by the environment, the team prioritized screen stability, effectiveness, and on-site safety, ensuring that every location was completed properly.

On-site coordination of different trades

Facing situations like blocked floor outlets, cluttered desktops, and ongoing office work, the team proactively communicated with on-site staff and electricians. By immediately adjusting the construction sequence and cooperating with outlet modifications, blocked areas were successfully installed, maintaining overall project progress.

Project Outcomes

145 office screens were ultimately delivered and installed, with all four areas delivered according to their specified colors and locations. Issues such as desk variations, construction during ongoing office hours, and blocked outlets were all addressed during the project.

Complete text, image, and quotation confirmation records provided clear grounds for verifying color differences, helping the client make quick decisions while reducing rework, delays, and communication costs. This case also reflects that commercial furniture projects in demanding environments require consideration of products, processes, on-site coordination, and record management to successfully implement spatial furniture solutions.
